Engineering students consider YIT Eesti one of the most attractive employers in Estonia

During March-April-May, employer branding agency Instar EBC conducted a survey about job expectations and employer reputation among students and experienced employees – it revealed that YIT Eesti is seen as the TOP 3 most attractive employer among engineering students out of 230 Estonian companies! The survey was conducted among students of Estonian higher and vocational education institutions and had more than 6100 respondents from all over the country.

The results of the survey were presented on September 11, Attractive Employers’ Day with a fabulous gala event for all of the employers’ representatives. The most attractive employers were recognized in nine categories – university and vocational students, experienced employees, as well as the most attractive employers in the fields of economics, IT, engineering, law, medicine and humanitarian. The survey has been conducted every year since 2010, and compared to the previous years, YIT's position has progressed tremendously – from placing 21st to TOP 3 in just a year.

YIT Eesti Chairman of the Board, Margus Põim says that it is a great compliment for YIT that their long-term efforts in creating learning opportunities and strong mentorship for young specialists have been recognized with such a prestigious award. "It is extremely important for us to create a work environment that supports both personal and professional development. People are our most valuable asset and whether we talk about our interns or engineering specialists who have worked with us for many years – we will provide them with the best tools to support their growth. Developing the skills of our people is our key to success,” said Põim.

The survey shows that the most important expectations for young people in 2020 are the desire to become a recognized specialist in their field, followed by horizontal development in the company and expectation to be a recognized specialist in their current position.

“Being awarded as one of the most attractive employers in Estonia among engineering students shows that we’re on the right track with our current activities and the work culture at YIT matches the priorities of young people,” Põim adds. “This recognition belongs to everyone in our ambitious team, but especially to all of the mentors and colleagues who lead by example, treat all of our interns as partners and work hard for maintaining close relationships with schools, introducing the career options at YIT.”
