Haabersti district – a green living environment by the beach

The Haabersti district in the western part of Tallinn includes 12 smaller districts that have mostly developed out of summer mansions and fishing villages. Kakumäe is a beautiful and green seaside area that gets its name from the Kakumäe village that used to be located there and that was mentioned already in 1467. A touch of history can also be seen at the end of the Kakumäe peninsula, where you’ll find the remains of the artillery battery of Peter the Great’s naval fortress.

Today Kakumäe is an area of single family homes with large gardens, perfect for an active person.

The area boasts of wonderful hiking trails and biking paths, which lead to the beach. The popular Rocca al Mare shopping centre is nearby with its numerous shops and eateries. Arigato and MyFitness Rocca al Mare are also in the area, as is the renowned Rocca al Mare school. The pride of Kakumäe is its beach and the 15 metre cliffs that offer a beautiful view to the sea.

The new and spacious homes built by YIT are also in the direct vicinity of the beach.
